Best year ever! We love you beyond words.

One Year Ago,

I was overdue and in the hospital getting my Cervidil on. However, Henry still didn't show up on the 20th of April...

To be continued. Dum, Dum, Dummmmmm.

So Hard To Believe...

My little Henry is turning one on Wednesday. What a year, what a year. He is going to have his first taste of cake when we celebrate on Saturday and I can't wait to see what he thinks. If he's anything like me, he's gonna love it.

Henry is boot-scootin' around this house like it's his job. He is never still and always up to something. He still doesn't want to walk- he will take a step if encouraged but after that first step, he sits and crawls to you. He likes walking his little car around the house and walking all our dining room chairs and end tables all around the house, too. Yesterday, while I was cooking, Henry moved almost all the dining room tables into the living room before he got trapped under one. Funny kid.

I am so excited to celebrate this kid's first year. It has been a wonderful, miraculous, sleepless, funny, humbling, amazing, unforgettable year. Thank you, Lord.

Dance Party

Henry's favorite family-time-dance-party song.

Book Reports

I truly love to read. Some days, I have to yank myself out of books to return to the land of the living. Some recent books that I've read are...

House Rules by Jodi Piccoult
She is an amazing author- this book is about an autistic 18-year-old accused of murdering his tutor. He looks guilty because, like others with autism, he won't look you in the eye...he doesn't show emotion in the courtroom about his tutor dying. It's a great read just like her other books.

Italian for Beginners by Kristin Harmel
Cute. Easy, fun read. It's like a modern-day take on Roman Holiday. Makes you want to visit Italy.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
love it. Have read it multiple times and still love it.

Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel garcia Marquez
Okay, I know that this is a Nobel prize winner and there were neat parts but mainly I just kept thinking....edit.

The Enemy Within by Noel Hynd
Meh. It had it's moments. I liked Conspiracy in Kiev better.

I can't decide if I'm doing less during the 1st trimester and that's why I have less to blog about or if I am just unmotivated to blog due to lethargy. Either way, things are going well around here! We did some spring cleaning and ewww, we are disgusting. At least the dog hair in our home is disgusting. How does it get into the places it does? Marvel.

Other than that, I've just been trying to avoid stepping into elevators with men wearing too much Axe body spray (Seriously men, please consider hormonal and nauseous women when applying cologne...a dab will do ya.)

We have really enjoyed hanging out with River Ackley- Brooke & Freeland's new son. He is precious. And, hopefully I will think of something interesting upon which to blog tomorrow. My mind is a blank.

Monkey, monkey.

Will the Real Dada Please Stand Up?

Henry points at Adam and says, "Dada."

Adam's heart melts. He smiles ear to ear.

Then Henry points at Powers. "Dada."

Henry points at the lamp. "Dada."

Henry points at a ball. "Dada."

Weekend

We had a full weekend with the arrival of Brooke & Freeland's baby. What a sweet boy. I could write so much about him but I will let Brooke blog about the name and the descriptions of the events because, after all, it is her baby. But I will say that he is a cutie.

When we weren't at the hospital, we spent a lot of time outside and what gorgeous weather we had. I mean, we even had to put sunscreen on Henry.

Adam cut Henry's hair last night (it was getting pretty long as seen in the above picture) and now he looks so much younger with his short hair! The kid love playing in the dirt.

I hope y'all had a wonderful Easter weekend!
