Fearless

My Mama finally got to see Fearless Henry in action today. We took him swimming and there was a baby pool (in which the water went up to Henry's neck or so) and she got to experience him sprinting through the water, going under on purpose (luckily he holds his breath), and general shrieking and mischief. He also does NOT want any help with swimming. Do not hold me, do not help me. Only if he's under water is grabbing him acceptable. And then he comes up laughing. He wants into the deep pool but doesn't want to be held...which is essentially impossible since, you know, he can't swim.

Next time, he's going to have on his life jacket, like it or not! Also, the day he turns two, I will have him enrolled in swim lessons! At this rate, he'll be jumping off the high dive in no time so he needs to have some swimming skills!

Hey Camille-- don't know if you know, but there is actually a swimming class for kids six months and up at the glenwood YMCA! So no reason to wait until he is 2!

We enrolled our son in swimming at the Y when he was right around Henry's age and he was in classes for 7 years! He is 24 now but still says it's the best thing we ever did for him, and he loved every minute of it!

Josh's sister and husband just put a life jacket on Weston (almost 2) and he just goes at in when they're at the cottage. Sounds like you guys are having fun, but we missed you last night at GG.

You've got your hands full!! Caris is crazy in the water too, thinks she can swim. Lessons are definately priority for next summer!

I can't make any promises but I'll try to corral Tris and Henry if possible this weekend and let you at least sit for 5 minutes. After which point I will collapse in a heap from trying to wrangle two toddlers!!

It is rather interesting for me to read that post. Thanks for it. I like such topics and anything connected to this matter. I definitely want to read more soon.
