Due Date

Today is the official due date. We went to a delicious late brunch at Pufferbelly's and I ate a lot- trying to tempt fate. My mom was late with my middle brother so she went to a Mexican restaurant and stuffed herself full and then walked outside and her water broke on the sidewalk. No such luck!

Oh well, I am grateful to feel this little boy hiccuping away inside of me. I took a long nap this afternoon and am about to go on another long walk to try and gravitate Henry on down. We will see the doctor tomorrow at 2:30 if there's still no baby and talk about some options.

I would NEVER induce unless it was medically necessary. Most babies know when the time is right....don't let some impatient doctor or your own irrational impatient self (cause we all know once the due date approaches and passes with no baby....a padded cell is looking nice) make him arrive before he is ready. If you have not had any medical issues with your pregnancy he will come soon enough. TRUST ME....I have had 3.

If fact, did I tell you that with Maxwell (the middle child), I fired my gyno in the 8th month and went to another because HE ONLY DELIVERED BABIES ON FRIDAYS.....unless of course you spontaneously went before you due date. Otherwise he scheduled you for a FRIDAY delivery because that was his surgery day and he was always at the hospital. I REFUSED and he didn't like it and so I fired his A$$ and went to someone who respected my wishes to have a natural birth....bearing any unforseen complications, which I had NONE through the whole pregnancy. This was the same doc that told me he didn't want me eating cookies or anything either (when I had only gained 22 lbs the whole pg). I basically told him he could KMA and if I wanted a cookie I would 1 or 25 because I walked 2 miles a day PLUS did THE FIRM workout. How about that for a comment.

I agree with the no inducing unless absolutely necessary. I had three and none of them was born until at least three days after the due date.

Take your bag with you today! You might get lucky and be sent straight to the hospital! Inducing isn't ideal but it can be done safely, so don't be worried if you need to have the induction b/c they do it ALL the time.
