a little trivia for you.
Tonight I went to a LECOM spouses thing at Super Suppers. At Super Suppers, you can either go and pick up a premade casserole thats frozen OR you can have these parties. So, at the parties they have all the ingredients chopped and set up for you. All you have to do is assemble the meals while you hang out & chat with your buds. Its actually really fun and takes out the chopping & juicing, etc. Then you package the meals and take them all home and freeze then and cook whenever you want. This party couldn't have come at a better time because I am currently chef brain dead as I have run out of recipes and good ideas. I have been experimenting with some recipes I found on healthy sites on the internet and Adam is starving.
Anyways, the party is a really good deal. Basically, if you get together 9 people total (or more) either the hostess can get all her meals free OR she can split it if its only 9 people and you all get a free 7th meal. It is quite thrifty! Even if you didn't get the free 7th meal.
Tomorrow is the 4th of July. Every 4th of July growing up, we would have a neighborhood party. We would listen to KPCH 97.7 good times, great oldies. We would light firecrackers all night & would write our names hundreds of times with Sparklers. We would run up to firecrackers with our dimly light punks & sprint off at the first sign of a lit wick. We would barely wait for the previous firecrackers explosion before running into the road to light the next one.
Did you know In Malaysia, playing with firecrackers is now illegal as stated from Malaysian Explosive Act which was revised in 1991 as a result of the increasing injuries among children (especially Malay) during Hari Raya festive season. Ironically, the injury cases caused by playing firecrackers continue to increase every year since Malay children turned to home-made firecrackers such as bamboo cannons as alternatives to commercial fireworks.
Hmmmmm.
In Erie, there are big mamma firecrackers on the bay. You can watch from any one of 5 locations, as we've heard numerous times on the Waldameer commercials.

Saw your article in the newspaper, and just wanted to say welcome to Erie. You seem to have found some of the fun things to do around town. And... have you been to Niagara Falls yet? It's one of the natural wonders of the world and less than 2 hours away.
