LOST: My Mind

I am losing my mind, friends. The other morning, I made toast and eggs for breakfast. Adam called me at lunchtime when he ran home to eat. "There is an extremely burnt piece of toast in the toaster right now." Whoops- forgot about the toast with those eggs.

Then I got another call a couple of days later- Adam was home for lunch again. "Do you know anything about this popcorn in the microwave?"
Whoops again- the night before I had popped some popcorn since I was still hungry....but then I forgot about it apparently. Must've been distracted by something else alluring- my bed and body pillow (Steve, we call him).

Adam told me that his liver enzyme levels were elevated in his recent blood work. "Oooh, maybe you have pancreatitis!" I said (in front of his med school friends). Pancreas...Liver....whatever.

There are more incidents to demonstrate my mind wandering off but I think this baby just must be hoggin' all the blood from my brain!

Shall we say, A TAD BIT DISTRACTED? Please don't burn Baby J's house down!

It happens in pregnancy and then you get to re-experience during the long long years of peri-menopause. So basically you only got a couple of good years.

The same thing happened to my wife with her short-term memory. It was noticeably not as good as before she became pregnant. Hang in there! Your body is working overtime to take care of two people.

Hi Camille! Thank you so much for your sweet message! Okay, funny story: I found your blog while surfing blogs of friends of friends a couple weeks ago and thought your name sounded familiar, but I just dismissed it and forgot to ask Stan (maybe part of that pregnancy forgetfulness you were talking about, ha). Now it's all coming together!! I'm so glad you messaged me, and Stan was really excited to get caught up on your life as well! Glad to have a new friend out there, and I look forward to keeping up with your pregnancy and new baby!

Hopefully Dr. J's liver enzymes aren't indicative of anything.

As far as the popcorn - you really should go to the store, get some REAL Orville Redenbacher popcorn, and cook it in oil. I had forgotten how much better REAL popcorn tasted until She started making it. Now, I will not be returning to the styrofoam that is microwave.

Splurge on yourself. You too will be taken by it.

Hey, I hate to be silly since we're talking about food, but one of my favorite dishes from the South is shrimp 'n grits - but I can't find good shrimp (even raw) or good grits anywhere around here. Suggestions?

you also said Bethany's toilet water was running and then she went in there and said you left the sink on and the water running. :)

It was cute.
