The Rookie Strikes Again.

Week 31 Pics

Today we went to the doctor and it was one of my favorite visits. The doctor was one that we hadn't seen yet (Dr. Thompson) and we just loved him to death. He let Adam use the doppler to find the baby's heart beat and so that was really cool. He said, "
Good job, Rookie." I had gained two pounds since the last appointment which put me at 25 lbs. total. What, what! Dr. Thompson said that we're doing well and that everything (measurements, etc.) look great.

**The following paragraph contains some female language and may make some men want to jump out a window**
We also had a delightful discussion about episiotomies...yippee! He said that they are not routine but if necessary, it's better than ripping four ways or getting an "H" tear. I asked him about the stretching and olive oil stuff I've heard you can do but he didn't think that they really worked. And, let's be honest, an olive oil perineum rub? Yikes. Any thoughts from the seasoned mamas?
**End graphic imagery**

Baby J's cute little booty is up by my lungs and his head is down and to the right side of my...umm...canal. He has been kicking a lot and the second I lay down in bed, he is getting after it! I think he's going to be a night owl. I am so excited to meet him and can only imagine what he's going to be like! I imagine the delivery room and them putting him on my chest after he's born and getting to hold him and it makes me tear up with happiness.

I just have to take a second and give some major props to my husband...Adam has been to every stinking doctor's appointment with me. Now, I know that lots of men are unable to do this and that is totally okay, but it has been really cool to have him there beside me...he's a good man, I tell ya. He's going to be the best daddy.

The warm weather has continued so we've been able to go on walks 4 days in a row! Today it almost reached 60 degrees! Holy bonanza!

Tried to call, circuits all busy I guess. Perhaps Adam's Egg & Spinach Diet restricted the weight gain this month? We are excited to meet Baby J also! Glad you had the graphic discussions with the doctor. I had a GOOD laugh with my buds today about the leg taping!

And Landry seemed to move a lot as well during the night but adjusted just fine after birth! Sp glad all is going well. And as excited as you are about meeting Baby J....just get some rest!

geez louise. you are probably the cutest darn preggo thing i have seen. your only competition (not that it is a competition, of course!) would be luci hoppe - do you know her? oh my. lordy don't stand me next to lu or cam when i am preggo!

and thanks for your note about me teaching. today i wondered if i was doing any good, so your little note was so timely!

you do have a good man there. i am glad you are saying it so much. and that you are writing (blogging) it so that baby boy will know he has a daddy after God's own heart. amen for good men! and thank You Lord for giving them to us!

You really are so beautiful pregnant....I would hate you if I didn't love you!!

Okay, about the graphic part...had one with Audrey, but not Abby. Never had a discussion with the doctor about it, though. It's really not that big of a deal...just have to keep it clean (that does sound gross....). They give you medicine, though. Maybe better to talk in person about it. I will stop.....

Both of my girls were very active at night...my doctor told me they were probably active all day, but I did not notice it as much until I was finally still in the bed. Makes sense, huh?

I was actually talking to a few friends the other day with kids and they were discussing your graphic topic. One friend has two kids and tried to massaging during one of her births and said it really worked.
And I must agree, you are a totally cute pregnant!

have we not talked about this yet!? From what I know (which isn't much) they kind of don't know if they'll do it until you...well, um "get there." But I can tell you my experience for sure! Glad Baby J is in the right position and I think you look beautiful at 31 weeks!!

Hey, like pic #2..good lighting on baby J.

About all the other stuff...you would rather have an episiotomie than rip....no question.

And yes, Josh always woke up about 9 PM every night....kicked me to death. My ribs hurt until he was about 8 months old. He still wakes up about 9 pm!!! Some things never change!

Cute post. You look beautiful . Best of luck in these next few eeks, as it can get a bit difficult w/ the sleeping and working full time. He'll be here before you know it!

The olive oil thing, done by a nurse in my hospital, did not keep me from tearing but without it I would have been in much bigger trouble.
