Insider Information

I'm fortunate to have several girlfriends who have gone through this whole Mom thing before me.

And good girlfriends, too- who will share the good, the bad, not to mention the ugly.  I've heard about the sleepless nights, projectile vomit, breast feeding debacles, and vaginal dryness.

I've had friends who love their babies describe to me the hormonal roller coaster that is postpartum, the marital struggles that often come with a newborn, and the hours of walking a wailing baby up and down the hallway.

I know, in my head, that it will be hard.  But I just don't think you can prepare yourself until your elbow-deep in meconium.  Plus, I'm a hopeless optimist:  I just don't believe that it will be that bad for us.  I can't help it- I have great expectations!

However, I am grateful to have friends who will give me the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

P.S. Even if, at one point, they wanted to throw their baby out the window...they wouldn't trade it for the world.  My friends are wonderful mamas.

P.P.S. You can all check this blog in April & May and remind me of my hopeless optimism.

Oh Camille! What I would do without your cheerful yet eerily sarcastic humor! It would be so boring. You have nothing...I repeat nothing...to worry about. Of course, it is the HARDEST and most STRESSFUL thing you will ever do but you will take to it like you have been doing it for years. Don't worry I'll be here to remind you of how wonderful a mother you are!

I pray you have the perfect child who sleeps through the night, never gets fussy, nurses perfectly and always goes down for naps. If Baby J isn't, then feel free to call me because Addy sure isn't!! But....I wouldn't trade her for the world!

The good times FAR OUTWEIGH the bad times!

It is a labor of love. The tough part comes later ...when you see your baby pull out of the driveway and go tooling down the road! Now that is something to worry about. Baby barf....can't even compare.

Hilarious. But seriously, a positive attitude will help tremendously. You will take great joy in those night when he does sleep. My little ones had thier nights when they were up but also those ights when they would sleep 10-12 hours!! Best of everything to you and your family.

That's why God makes them so stinkin' cute...so that you CAN'T be mad when they are screaming in the middle of the night, spitting up on your new shirt, or pooping for the fourth time after you just changed them :)

ps. btw you look great! baby J is all out in front!

Girl-
If I can make it through 2 babies 360 days apart and STILL want another one....it isn't that bad!
